I begin my work with drawing and photography. As this develops I use a variety of materials and cross the boundaries by combining acrylics, oils and batik and fabrics.
 I work from my studio on the Herefordshire/Shropshire borders. I explore nature, water reflections, trees and flowers. I am fascinated by the way that the ripples in water change the reflections and how the light manipulates the colour and appearance of the surface. I try to capture the simplicity of a single moment whether in reflections, light or the vividness of a colour.

 

My silk batik scarves are made individually and are therefore completely original and unique.

 I have taught art for over thirty years, and I now run short art courses in watercolours, silk painting and batik from my studio near Ludlow.

My studio is open to visitors, just give me a ring or call in. I have some new fabric pictures and lots of brooches, hairslides, earrings and fascinators,
